This venerable model year introduced the now-familiar split double-rectangular humbucker pickup, the larger Strat-style headstock and the Three-color Sunburst finish. The body is constructed of two-piece hand-selected alder and is finished in NOS lacquer. The one-piece quartersawn maple neck has a ’57 “soft V” profile, 7.25”-radius fingerboard and 20 medium vintage (47095) frets. A hand-wound ’57 P Bass pickup delivers perfect vintage low-end thump and is wired to master volume and tone controls. Other features include a vintage-accurate single-ply gold anodized pickguard, four-saddle vintage-style bass bridge, vintage-style tuning machines, bone nut and a disc string tree.
