National Guitars S-1 weathered Steel

This 8lbs 7oz peg head headstock with Hard Rock Maple neck weathered steel National S1 Resonator is part of the Scheerhorn Spidercone 25" scale family of American crafted instruments. This round neck l body style version has Tim Scheerhorn’s famed open-chamber design and the one of a kind special handspun cone. Its a simply wonderful instrument and looks stunning.

 Tim Scheerhorn was a guitar picker first and foremost, and he wanted more from his instrument, so he built his first resonator guitar in 1989. He showed it to Dobro player Mike Auldridge, who swooned over the quality and tone. Since then, Scheerhorn guitars have become famous as some of the best of their type and are played by a who’s who of pickers. Our new Scheerhorn Model S1 round neck features a L-style body made of solid steel famous for blues and classic resonator tone. Inside is Tim Scheerhorn’s famed open-chamber design and the one of a kind special handspun Scheerhorn cone. The cast spider bridge is capped with maple bridge inserts and the classic fan coverplate. The neck is made of hard rock Maple with mother-of-pearl dot inlays on the ebony fretboard that’s embellished with a mother of pearl logo. The guitar is stylishly finished with our Weathered steel patina and unique dual open soundhole rings, a traditional tailpiece, and chrome-plated hardware.
