A compact 30" scale reduced size bass with plenty of ability and an excellent blend of specifications and value. This Sterling RaySS4 StingRay Short Scale Bass in Black comes with hard maple neck and 9.5" radius 22 fret fingerboard. We especially like the capable Neodymium pickup and open geared tuners with creative circuitry.

The StingRay Short Scale bass has the iconic StingRay sound shrunk down into a 30” scale length package. With easier accessibility, a passive boost, and a single humbucking pickup with higher output neodymium magnets, the StingRay Short Scale offers comfortability without compromise. The versatile pickup configuration includes parallel, true single-coil, and series modes for diverse tonal options.

easy to play nice sounding bass

Walked into project music in Exeter looking for a bass. I am first and foremost a guitar player, so was mainly interested in something easy to mess around with. The guy in the store recommended I try one of these short scale Sterling bass out. I instantly found it easier to play and don't think its sounds any less than a standard long scale bass. They maybe look a bit small in your hands, but they are easy to play and easy to record with. I play my one directly into my lap top digital recording software, and it works really well. I can highly recommend this bass guitar. They make them in a few finish options, but I though the black one looked best.

Short Scale bass

Perfect bass for me. Shorter scale but still sounds good. it arrived well set up from the guys at Project Music in Exeter. All i needed to do was un box it and plug it in. I was surprised how different it was to other longer scale bass guitars, so unless you know for sure you want a shorter scale I would recommend you check it our first. But its a very good buy and I can happily recommend it.
